EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
Kingdom Scholars Microschool is dedicated to delivering a challenging academic program that thoughtfully weaves together rigorous instruction with a foundation in Christian faith. Nestled within a supportive and relationship-driven environment, our school fosters both intellectual growth and character development.
Our curriculum is meticulously aligned with the Ohio Learning Standards, ensuring that all students receive a high-quality education that emphasizes both scholarly excellence and the cultivation of moral values.
Our instructional model is designed to address the diverse needs of our learners and includes the following key elements:
- Multi-grade Small Group Instruction: This approach encourages collaboration among students of different ages and skill levels, promoting peer learning and social development.
- Direct Teaching with Guided Practice: Instructors provide clear, structured lessons followed by opportunities for students to actively engage and practice new concepts, ensuring mastery before moving forward.
- Differentiated Instruction Based on Student Readiness: We recognize that each student learns at their own pace. Our differentiated strategies allow us to tailor lessons to meet individual needs, ensuring that all students are challenged and supported.
- Ongoing Progress Monitoring: We utilize continuous assessment methods to track student progress, allowing for timely interventions and adjustments to instruction as needed.
- Leadership and Character Development: Beyond academics, we emphasize the importance of leadership skills and character education, nurturing students to become responsible, ethical, and compassionate individuals.
At Kingdom Scholars Microschool, we strive to create a nurturing atmosphere where students can grow academically, spiritually, and personally.
Lower Torchbearers (K–2)
Our K–2 program focuses on early literacy and numeracy while establishing a foundational biblical worldview. Students develop essential social-emotional skills through a balanced curriculum of structured play and hands-on exploration.
Upper Torchbearers (3–5)
The 3–5 program emphasizes deeper critical thinking and independent work habits. Students are introduced to leadership opportunities and learn to apply a biblical worldview across all academic subjects.
Daily Devotions
A gentle start to every morning, where scholars dive into Scripture and prayer together, centering their hearts and minds for a day of purposeful discovery.
Spiritual Life & Chapel
At Kingdom Scholars, faith isn't just a subject—it's the heartbeat of our community. We invite our K–5 families to join us in a rhythm of worship and scripture that shapes every scholar's perspective.
Weekly Chapel
Our weekly rhythm includes a joyful time of corporate worship and age-appropriate teaching that builds a shared foundation of faith across our entire community.
Faith Woven Learning
We don't just teach the Bible; we teach everything through the lens of God's Word, helping children see His hand in science, math, and every story they read.
CURRICULUM & RESOURCES SNAPSHOT
Kingdom Scholars Microschool utilizes the Abeka K–5 curriculum as the primary instructional resource. Curriculum mapping documents cross-reference Abeka scope and sequence with the Ohio Learning Standards to ensure full coverage of required academic benchmarks in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.
Attendance
Consistency is vital for academic mastery. We ask that scholars arrive by 8:50 AM to settle in. If an absence is necessary, please notify your guide by 8:30 AM via our messaging portal.
Program Policies Snapshot
Clear expectations help our community thrive. We invite parents to partner with us in maintaining these core standards to ensure a safe, focused, and fruitful learning environment for every scholar.
Dress Code
Our dress code fosters focus and equality. We encourage modest, scholar-ready attire: solid-colored polos (navy or gold) paired with khaki or navy bottoms for a unified community feel.
Communication
Partnership is our foundation. Expect a weekly "Torchbearer Update" every Friday via email. For daily questions, guides are available through our secure app between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
Behavior & Heart
We nurture scholarly character. Our approach to behavior is heart-centered and restorative, using biblical principles to help children learn self-regulation, kindness, and moral integrity.
Chapel & Devotions
We prioritize spiritual formation through weekly chapel services and daily prayer and Scripture study, centering our students’ education in the Word of God.
